Warnings & precautions

• A tooth discoloration resulting from liquid iron preparations can be eliminated through intensive cleaning of the teeth. We recommend that you use with a straw.
• Patients with ulcers or inflammation of the gastric or intestinal mucosa must be careful with this drug.
• A cumulative dose of one gram of iron can lead to a life-threatening condition in infants.
• To avoid the risk of a possible overdose of iron, other iron-rich foods or medications should not be used.

Dosage

Adults take one to twice daily 40 drops.

In children is the dosage to be reduced once or twice daily 20 drops.

At the beginning of therapy, infants get five drops and then up to 15 drops per day (spread over three to five gifts).

In premature births, the dose is one drop per kilogram of body weight daily.

Ferrum Hausmann solution should be taken with or immediately after meals. The solution can be mixed easily with the baby food or fruit and vegetable juices. Neither taste nor effect affected the light Caramelfärbung.
